• Sep 13, 2016 ESPN has launched an iOS 10-centric update to its flagship app. The updated ESPN app brings about several new iOS 10-related features, such as iMessage App Store support and updated iOS 10 widget.
• The new ESPN app should be rolling out as a free update on the tvOS App Store today in the United. Apple today released the rack mount version of the Mac Pro, offering a design that is suited.
• Live Streaming with your TV provider: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, SEC Network, SEC Network Plus, ESPNews ESPN Deportes, and Longhorn Network are all available to stream live in the ESPN App. Access to live video is determined by your TV provider and package and, in some instances, your Internet service provider.

ESPN’s MultiCast feature works on both current models of Apple TV streaming boxes: Apple TV (fourth-gen) and Apple TV 4K. The feature is killer for quickly switching between multiple games, but it’s also neat to try when watching one event when ESPN has multiple camera feeds.

MultiCast lets you watch two games side by side or with one full screen and one in picture-in-picture mode, three games tiled with two stacked, four games tiled with three stacked, and four games equally divided into quadrants.

The ESPN app plays the audio of the game in focus, and you can quickly go totally full screen on any feed with a click, rearrange games by clicking and dragging, and remove or add additional feeds from ESPN’s stream browser.

On-screen instructions make the whole experience super simple to use. Seeing four live feeds so well presented on Apple TV makes you wish Apple supported split screen and picture-in-picture features across the platform and not just in apps that make their own version. For example, I rely on live TV streaming from Hulu for live sports on local channels but split screen only works in ESPN’s app.

ESPN also integrates with the Apple TV app which brings useful features like on-screen alerts for game activity for favorited teams. Sports features in the TV app work on both tvOS and iOS for Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad.

The combination of ESPN’s MultiCast feature and TV app integration makes Apple TV a pretty impressive streaming box that makes traditional cable look a bit long in the tooth.

Sports broadcaster ESPN has made it easier for viewers to watch its programming via its apps, with both the ESPN and WatchESPN iOS apps gaining support for Apple's single sign-on feature, as well as compatibility with Google Chromecast and more.

Single-sign on streamlines the authentication process for U.S. cable TV subscribers, allowing them to use a single set of credentials to access content across multiple pay TV video streaming apps. The changes to the ESPN and %0D%0Alink=https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/watchespn/id429009175?mt=8' watchespn='> apps means users already verified with their TV provider and subscribed to a relevant package can easily log into the app and access paid video content.

The Disney-owned ESPN adds support for single sign-on just over a month after the Watch Disney and Watch ABC apps. Apple made the single sign-on feature available for use from Dec. 6 last year, and is currently only available in the U.S., but is expected to roll out to other countries in the future.

Owners of the Google Chromecast also benefit from the latest update, with support for the streaming dongle introduced at the same time. The option lets users watch video streamed on their TV via the device, by selecting an option on their iPhone or iPad.

Another addition is Video Docking, which moves the video into a smaller window similar to picture-in-picture, giving access to the rest of the app while the video continues playing.

Fans of golf will be able to use new enhanced golf leaderboards, redesigned and offering enhanced player and course statistics for tournaments. Lastly, there is now an option to view the Australian edition of the broadcaster's news service.
